What is a Goalie?

There's a weird rumor floating around Speranza today. People are saying 'Goalies' were these ancient, respected gladiators who brawled on ice using curved sticks. Legend says they fought for a 'giant drinking vessel of steel and plastic.' Sounds like nonsense to me, but I wouldn't say no to a giant drink right now.
